I had a couple of days difference between when my new phones arrived and when the range extender arrived, so I've had some time to evaluate the phones on their own merits. Adding the range extender today has exceeded my expectations beyond anything I imagined.I live in a three story house where the base unit is installed in my office the back corner of the second floor of the house. I installed the range extender in the front opposite corner of the second floor on a window sash. Whereas without the extender, I started picking up considerable static at my mailbox (about 180 feet from the base unit), now I can walk down to the street corner without static (about 300 feet from the base)! Sweet.
Setup couldn't have been easier. I plugged in the range extender set it on the window sash, and noted a flashing red LED on the front. I walked back to my office and held down the location button on the base unit for about 5 seconds. The base unit started beeping and the display on the telephone handset said it was registering. When it stopped beeping a couple of minutes later, I walked back to the range extender to note two solid green LEDs. That's all there was to it.
This is a great addition for the money. You won't be sorry.
