The GE DECT 6.0 Corded Phone with Cordless Handset includes 1 corded phone and one cordless handset with a digital answering system which provides up to 20 minutes of recording time. The telephones feature up to 7 hours of talk time, corded power failure operation, a handset speakerphone, and push to talk intercom. It is WiFi friendly and expandable to 5 handsets for extra convenience. It has programmable do not disturb, call transfer, call timer, and a visual ringer in the handset. This telephone also features handset naming, a real time clock, a programmable alarm and reminders, and allows you to select from 10 ring tones. The handset has trilingual menus to facilitate operation. The phonebook stores 100 names and numbers which can be accessed alphabetically, even during a call. The caller ID function stores 40 names and numbers and also allows for call waiting, with a 30 number call blocking, caller ID and phonebook matching, and voice message waiting indication. The answering system provides handset access to messages, a selectable outgoing announcement, prerecorded and user recorded announcements, call screening/interrupt, remote message retrieval, and a programmable security code.           I bought this phone for my parents and they think it is great! The display on the base set is large and bright when active and it has simple buttons for things like intercom and speakerphone, all which were easily understood by my parents. Large buttons for dialing, and the text on the display is also large. The phone has a good menu for ringer volume and tone on the base and cordless, and, after assisting them with the setup, my parents are very happy to have caller ID in a font size they can see. It's also great to know that the base works during a blackout, which, given the state of the weather these days, is a very good thing.
